Abstract

The northwest region of the State of Paraná is characterized by presenting large-scale erosion features, mainly related to the current use and occupation of the soil. However, the existence of erosion with characteristics different from the current ones, were interpreted to climatic conditions present in the Quaternary.Using morphometric indices (elevation, slope, relief and chi) and field evidence, we sought to develop a spatial evolution model of these erosion features located on a watershed, located between the Ivaí and Paranapanema basins. For this it was necessary to extract the morphometry of the features; evaluate the stability of dividers by algorithms applied to digital elevation models and characterize the drainage network. To respond to the objectives, the following methods and techniques were used: acquisition of field images with RPA; characterization of the drainage network by mathematical algorithms and development of an evolutionary model. Four stages of evolution were defined for the features; the first stage represents its current configuration, the second the evolution of the relief from the adjustment of a drainage capture; the third, the union of the three features by small segments and finally in the fourth, the coalescence of all features.
